Russian programmer to testify in e book program trial
Dmitry Sklyarov, a 27 year old Russian programmer, will testify in his company ElComSoft’s copyright case in San Jose. He faced up to five years and $500000 in fines under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act but will avoid prison time by testifying, with the indictment to be dismissed. Adobe had pressed the case, later dropping support after online policy groups threatened boycotts.
