Pomona United Methodist Women met to share Christmas goodies with Kay Woodbury leading the program. The group listed numerous December dates for members, anniversaries, and a Hunger Round-Up totaling 581.43 dollars. Pomona Middle School boys varsity beat Burlingame 47-26 to stay undefeated at 7-0. JV won 24-23.

SWIFT Project Receives $500 Donation For Job Resources
The Ottawa Franklin County Economic Development Committee donated 500 to Pomona High School for the SWIFT Project. The funds will update job resources for all Franklin County schools, including a directory CD-ROMs and websites, targeting the 2001 graduates.

Appanoose Girls fall 21 to 20 in close contest
Pomona Kansas reports the Appanoose girls basketball team lost 21 to 20 despite Autumn Reece’s late three. Sarah Wigger and Reece led with six points each, Hannah Nelson added five. JV won 12 to 2 with Stephanie Wilson scoring four.
