In Las Vegas Nevada farmer Paul Thomas dropped a concussion bomb into a gopher burrow aimed at the pest. The gopher pushed the bomb back out with a burning fuse. Thomas hurled it away as it exploded, setting a hay pile aflame. Firefighters saved the house and barn, but 12 tons of hay burned. He reports the gopher still peers from the hole.
