Two Ottawans, Shawn Atkins and Rachelle Hufford, were injured in a Tuesday evening wreck at 21st and South Princeton when a motorcycle not registered and under 49cc collided with a car driven by Thomas Smith. A disruptive Appanoose Elementary School student, not named due to being a minor, allegedly stole a teacher's car keys and locked himself inside the vehicle. The Topeka Democrat drew 4600 from campaign funds a week after losing her August primary and the campaign still owed her over 13000, largely from miles claimed across her two county district. Critics noted miles claimed far exceed district size with average rates. Gregory also wrote herself 2797.20 for mileage on June 30 and later 2296.25 remained owed by the campaign, while she received 883.20 state transportation funds.
