Downtown Ottawa lot barren after historic building razed

The 124 S Main Street site in Ottawa remains a question mark months after a 100 year old three story building was demolished. City lawyers bank owner CrossFirst Bank and two nearby property owners are negotiating the fate of the lot amid calls for permanent public restrooms and landscaping to serve downtown events and shoppers.

Franklin County to amend budgets to close authority gaps

Franklin County plans three amendments to the operating budget including bond and interest, health department, and county wide phone fund. A public hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. December 12 in commission chambers at 1428 S. Main St. Ottawa. The changes do not affect taxes and ensure budget authority covers year expenditures.
