Loren Burke longtime Topeka educator dies at 77
Loren Joseph Burke known as Joe Burke, 77, of Topeka died Tuesday November 27 1990 at a Topeka hospital. He taught and later led in Kansas schools, earned degrees from Emporia State Teachers College and Northern Colorado University, and held leadership roles in education and civic clubs. He was survived by his wife Mary Neema Hut ton, a daughter, a son, three brothers and five grandchildren, with memorials requested to First United Methodist Church or the Shriners Crippled Children’s Fund. Funeral services were held Friday at Klasse Chapel and a graveside service followed at Piedmont Cemetery. Burial details and family addresses noted.
