Kansas City private clubs face racial bias in memberships
A Kansas City Star survey of 25 private and business clubs finds 12 of 19 country clubs have no black members though most deny discrimination. Some clubs lack Jewish members, while new ones like Loch Lloyd Hallbrook note non discrimination. Activists urge progress amid gradual diversification.
