Ottawa University and local service groups join parents physicians law enforcement and school district reps at a FCCC brainstorm. Teams listed needs such as after school activities safe housing child care and transport while proposing county wide collaboration improved communication and a grant writer for FCCC. Carolyn Newmaster praised turnout and ideas.
The interac tive video system installed over summer links Greenbush North staff with school districts statewide. Officials will christen the system at 10:15 Thursday in Ottawa with superintendents from over 20 districts, then connect to Topeka to speak with Deputy Education Commissioner Dale Dennis. The system aims to support teacher in-service with potential future use for students.
In Corbin Kansas an anthropologist examined a human skull to help identify the victim and determine cause of death. Non human bones found nearby included dog and bison remains. Sumner County Sheriff Tony Schwabauer says the case is a homicide. Assistant professor Peer Moore-Jansen of Wichita State University analyzed the skull.
