Senior quarterback Neal Philpot threw four touchdown passes and scored once as Pittsburg State routed Western State 56-6. He connected with Jermaine Carpenter for a 58 yard score early, added a 6 yard run, a 79 yard TD pass to Carpenter, then a third TD pass to Carpenter in the third quarter. In another game Emporia State edged Fort Hays State 13-10 behind Jake Richter’s 87 rushing yards and a first half 34 yard TD run.
