Moving to Ottawa in 1937 tax case dismissed
A tax suit filed August 12 in district court by the state tax commission against Miami Sunflower Transfer Inc of Ottawa was dismissed. The commission sought 370.66 dollars for motor carrier tax for 1954.

Death of Nellie Kerr at Orion Illinois
Word has been received of the death of Miss Nellie Kerr at her home in Orion Illinois. She was the sister of Prof Edgar D Kerr of Ottawa. Prof Kerr, wife and younger daughter are visiting their older daughter Mrs Marlin Kimball in Augusta Georgia where Kimball is in military service. The Kerrs could not attend the funeral but will return to Ottawa via Illinois to visit relatives, expected home August 29. Miss Nellie Kerr had visited Ottawa several times.

Funeral services for Jesse Kirk Hays
Funeral services for Jesse Kirk Hays will be at Towner's Funeral Chapel Tuesday at 10 am. Rev W E Caldwell will officiate. Interment in Pleasanton cemetery. In a second obituary, Mrs James R Hutchison of 123 N Elm St aged 53 died today at 415 am in University of Kansas hospital after hospital admission on Aug 3 and surgery a week later. Born July 11 1902 in Newkirk Oklahoma, she had lived in Princeton several years.
