City approves bridge plan with KS DOT aid on 15th Street
Ottawa city commissioners voted 4 to 1 to sign a contract with the Kansas State Department of Transportation to rebuild a Rock Creek bridge on 15th Street and extend a sidewalk toward Mulberry Street. The city will cover about 70 000 dollars, 20 percent of costs, while KS DOT will fund the rest. Ramsey dissented citing desire to keep funds and opposition to the sidewalk requirement. The body also proclaimed anniversaries for First United Methodist Church and Bethany Chapel Church and discussed roofing complaints and permit rules following the July hailstorm.
