New manager named for Pomona Lake project

New Pomona Lake project manager is en Ruona of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District, a 20 year veteran who grew up in Minnesota. He will oversee operations and flood control for the 110 mile Creek basin and Pomona Lake near Vassar while the Ruona family resides in Baldwin City.

New columnist Kathleen Parker joins The Herald’s Opinion page

Kathleen Parker debuts as the Herald’s new columnist on the Opinion page. Scottish climber Alison Hargreaves dies on K2 avalanche
