Iraqi soldier recalls daily life in war zone
A local soldier writes from Mosul about patience, labor by hand, and pride in basic needs now available after Saddam. He describes IED attacks near convoy routes, heat scorching to 140, dust devils, and close calls during patrols. He reflects on civilian resilience and the contrast with life at home.
