Alice E. Aubry, 102, died Aug. 5, 2004, at Presbyterian Manor Parsons. Graveside rites Aug. 7 at Highland Cemetery Ottawa. Born 1901 in Rantoul, educated at Emporia State, longtime Independence teacher since 1945 with many honors. Survivors include two nephews and three nieces. memorials to ICC Foundation Nursing Scholarship. Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick in charge.
Russell C. Leach, 92, died Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at Baldwin Care Center, Baldwin City. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.
John R. Lewis, 88, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, in Pittsfield Massachusetts. Cremation has taken place and his remains will be interred at a later date in Ottawa. Born Dec. 27, 1915, in Ottawa to John D. and Anna Charlotte Lewis. Memorials to Alzheimer's Association. Funeral home is Lamb-Roberts Ottawa Kansas. A full obituary will appear later.
Charles E Rector 76 died Tuesday August 17 at Abilene Memorial Hospital. Funeral at 10 30 a m at First United Methodist Church Abilene with Rev Jim Edwards officiating.
