Radio Antenna Pierces Boy's Heart in Fort Wayne
In Fort Wayne Indiana a 12 year old boy pulled a broken car radio antenna from his chest after a bicycle fall. The antenna pierced the bottom of his heart three inches deep and left him in critical condition at St. Josephs Hospital. Police say another boy was riding on the handlebars when the antenna was found.

Youth Missing From Atchison
A 15 year old Los Angeles boy visiting relatives in Atchison was reported missing. William A. Haupt son of Mr and Mrs William H Haupt of Los Angeles last seen Saturday in Monrovia Kas about 10 miles west of Atchison. He told friends he was bound for New Orleans. Haupt arrived with his mother six weeks ago to visit her parents Mr and Mrs A C Berger. He is 5 feet 3 inches tall weighs 145 pounds has black hair and brown eyes and wore black trousers.

World's first all-jet VTOL plane to be tested at Edwards
The world's first all jet vertical takeoff aircraft has arrived at Edwards Air Force Base, California, after being transported by truck from Ryan Aeronautical Co. yesterday for testing. The milestone aircraft, built for jet VTOL capability, will undergo flight tests to verify performance and safety.

Two Killed In Car Train Crash Near Leavenworth
LEAVENWORTH Kansas Two men died and a third was injured critically when a car collided with a Chicago Great Western passenger train at a Missouri grade crossing east of the Leavenworth Centennial bridge. Victims were William Robert Seber 21 of Leavenworth and Thomas Monahan 21 of Easton Kansas. Bill Davis 17 of Leavenworth was reported in critical condition. The trio were en route to work on a Kansas City bridge project. this was the second fatal crash at the crossing since the bridge opened last April following a prior fatality including Van L. Van Druff of Leavenworth.
