Prewitt Family Reunion Gathers Ottawa Members in 2003
John Wesley Prewitt and Martha Elizabeth Stark's descendants gathered at Celebration Hall in Ottawa on August 2 to mark over 130 years of family growth. Attendees shared snacks, a 6 p.m. potluck, and a morning breakfast at Sirloin Stockade, with Hazen Curran and Ray Kerschen noted as deaths.

Rowdy Wrangler 4-H Club Holds July Meeting
The Rowdy Wrangler 4-H Club met at noon on July 19 at the fair grounds. President Eric Anderson led roll call, a scavenger hunt tested projects from the Franklin County Fair, then adjourned for refreshments. The August meeting is scheduled for Monday at the First Christian Church in Ottawa.

Richmond Public Library finishes annual summer reading program
The Richmond Public Library wrapped up its nine week 2003 summer reading program on August 6 with a treasure hunt and certificate awards. Kayla Brock read 2,208 pages to win most pages, Robin Rosey read 103 books, and Kenzie Weber listened to 118 books. The program drew 68 kids and 17 adults, with preschool to third graders reading or listening to 1,178 books, fourth to sixth graders logging 11,074 pages, teens tallying 36,743 pages, and 17 adults completing 162 books.
