The 7th annual Run for Ben charity ride Saturday supports animals awaiting new homes at Prairie Paws Animal Shelter. It honors Ben a border collie killed by a hit-and-run driver in October 2010.

City considers two 20 mph school zones on Eisenhower Road

Ottawa public works director Michael Haeffele proposed two school zones near Sunflower Elementary to set 20 mph limits. He explained the zoning would apply on 19th Street to 1000 feet east of Eisenhower and along Eisenhower Road between Falcon Way and 19th Street, with parts north of 13th Street outside city limits.
