Dallas police cracked down on unpaid traffic tickets drawing 1,250 people to Corporation Court over two days. Extra officers worked weekend shifts after a backlog of about 4,000 tickets piled up.

Deaths and funeral notices for Bloomer Turpin and family
Funeral services for Charles Edward Bloomer of Rantoul will be Friday at 2 p m at Ruhamah Baptist Church with Rev R B Shoemaker officiating. Interment will be in Ruhamah cemetery. Recent services were held in Kansas City for Lula Sconce Turpin 83, a former Ottawa resident who died July 31. Turpin lived in Ottawa 1917 to 1928, her husband Wade Turpin was an American Railway Express agent in Ottawa until his 1919 death. Her Ottawa home was at 1247 S Cedar and she later lived at 915 S Hickory. She worked at the Ottawa public library and was a Christian church member. In 1928 the Turpin family moved to Kansas City where her son H T Turpin, married to Phyllis Bement, resides. Three other sons live in Kansas City.

Colleen Patton of Clifton Hill Mo survives with city six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Interment was in the cemetery at Pleasant Hill Mo. She stated she wants to finish her vacation despite the experience. Her parents are Mr and Mrs Joe Patton of Clifton Hill Mo.

Rescued Girl Is Uninjured After Mt Evana Ordeal
Colleen Patton an 11 year old girl from Denver was found after 26 hours missing on Mt Evana a 14 260 foot peak. She was located five miles from the area where she disappeared during a vacation outing and leaves Mercy Hospital with minor injuries including scrapes and sunburn.
