Jim Guyer, 74, becomes the oldest parachutist from the Perrine Bridge in Idaho. He earned a spot in the Guinness Book of Records potential as he executed a 360-degree turn after the chute opened. A small crowd cheered as Guyer and friends watched his daring jump and admired his motto that records are meant to be broken.

Obituary: Floyd L. Jackson Jr. 69 Ottawa Kansas
Floyd L. Jackson Jr. 69 of Ottawa died August 6 2002 at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held August 9 at Lamb Roberts Heise Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Layton Jr officiating. Interment followed at Stanton Cemetery near Rantoul. He was born May 4 1933 in Rantoul to Floyd L and Georgia Jackson. He married Helen Myers February 22 1959 in Miami Oklahoma. she died March 18 1995. He worked in the oil industry and co owned Jackson & Son Oil Well Service in the 1960s and 70s. Survived by son Brett of Ottawa daughter Marcie Romero of Westminster Colorado two granddaughters and two great grandchildren. He was in state after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with visitation. Memorials may be made to the Kansas Heart Association.
