Death of Mrs. Mary Oles Aged 78 In Iola Move

Mrs. Mary Oles longtime Franklin County resident died Sunday at age 78 after moving to Iola three years ago. She is survived by eight children and 22 grandchildren with numerous great grandchildren. Funeral is Thursday at 2 p m at Vaughn Funeral Home Iola.

Dog Resents His House Being On Fire

Coffeyville fire crews respond to a house blaze that turned out to be a dog house. Owner Cornelius Slaughter Mrs. Mary J. Printy of 610 S. Jr. had extinguished the fire with a garden hose. Mrs. Printy, born Sept. 20, 1868, in Trenton, Mo., widow of William F. Printy, leaves a son Ben and a daughter Mrs. Cora Wesen of Ottawa, plus numerous grandchildren. Funeral plans set for Towner's Chapel with burial at Evergreen Mound Cemetery.

Military money bills cut by House Appropriations Committee

The committee slashed 279 million dollars from a supplemental money bill and rejected a new Air Force Academy project. Morgan Dies in Sheriff Office in Wellsville

Samuel Franklin Morgan 71 of near Wellsville died late yesterday afternoon in Sheriff Jay Brown's office at the courthouse. He suffered a heart attack and died after a doctor arrived. Born January 3, 1886 in Kissel Missouri, he had lived in the Wellsville area since 1946 and leaves a widow, two sons Exie and Paul, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Coughlin Funeral Home Wellsville with burial in Wellsville Cemetery.

Assembly Of God Youth Rally Tonight at 13th and Mulberry

Two damage suits were settled before District Judge Floyd Coffman yesterday. Inez Stevens sought 686.90 plus costs from Harry L. Bivins after her son Richard 10 died in a collision with a lear on highway K33 near Wellsville. Beulah Mateson 15, passenger in Clyde Chambers auto, received 938.80 plus costs in a Nov 28 1956 crash when the Chambers car was struck while parked on the road shoulder five miles west of Ottawa.
