TV family hour shows more sex and violence study says
The Parents Television Council reports a 78 percent rise in coarse language and 70 percent more violence during the 8 9 p m family hour across ABC CBS NBC Fox WB and UPN in 2000 01. UPN leads with 18 1 per hour of sex violence or crude language. Bozell blames sponsors and sees broadcast boldness tied to cable competition.
