City manager addresses questions on two historic funds
Itawa City Manager Scott Lambers released a report to city commissioners answering Jim Grogan’s questions about two old budget accounts. Grogan cited a 1960 voter approved plan diverting 1 percent of gross utility revenue into a special industrial development fund, with annual and total caps, and a second sales tax fund. Lambers states the first fund was to sunset after five years but still exists in the budget and may be used for various expenditures. The commission is not required to contribute funds from water or electric operations for the old purposes.
