Skidmore named Bank IV Ottawa vice president manager

Ottawa native Michael Skidmore has been hired as vice president and manager of Bank IV in Ottawa. He oversees the Ottawa office at 421 S. Hickory with emphasis on business development and commercial lending. He returns to Ottawa with his wife Marilee and their three children. The bank pilots a BANK IV Visa Purchasing Card with Western Resources to help area companies streamline purchases under 5000 dollars, rolling out to all Bank IV markets by mid April.

District partners launch water quality study in Franklin County

Franklin County Conservation District and Ottawa branch campus of Neosho County Community College lead a multi school effort to sample seven streams and the Marais des Cygnes River this summer. High schools Central Heights Ottawa Pomona Wellsville Williamsburg join college students in chemical and microbiological tests to establish baseline water quality data for evaluating non point source pollution projects.
