Railroads brace for snags as Conrail ends
CSX Corp. and Norfolk Southern Corp. brace for minor service snags as they prepare to split Conrail routes two months from today. Officials say disruptions are inevitable but will be managed with contingencies and extra resources. Slowdowns are expected during the initial switch as computers are shut down and reprogrammed.
