Wichita based McConnell Air Force Base announced a KC-135 Stratotanker and a team of 25 crew members and maintenance workers will be deployed to a forward operating location in Europe to support airstrikes. The base notes McConnell has already sent about 20 tankers and 300 personnel for Yugoslavia operations.
Kansas Senator Pat Roberts urged higher state funding for faculty salaries and research facilities. He said Kansas is falling behind other states in science, technology and engineering and urged the Advisory Committee on Science and the Future to lead advocacy for increased state commitment as an investment in the future.
Eighty million year old Deinosuchus fossils reveal tree-ring like growth marks in scutes. Researchers Gregory Erickson and Christopher Brochu report in Nature that these crocodiles grew slowly, reaching about 50 years old, about a foot per year during peak growth before tapering after age 35.

Survived by three daughters Jennie Thane Ruth Jacobs and Jean Wood two brothers John and Everett Noyes 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Burial Princeton Cemetery. Grew up in Iola graduated Iola High School 1927. Married Dr J Joyce Wilson June 16 1931 Baldwin.
