City to mall insurance switch eyed by Ottawa officials
The Ottawa city commission will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday to consider changing its property insurance carrier from Employers Mutual Corp to Titan Insurance of San Antonio. Titan would cost about 104 324 for 1997, roughly 2 630 less than the current policy, with local agency ties preferred by several commissioners. The agenda also includes zoning tweaks for business signs in residential areas, weed nuisance abatement enforcement, a daycare special use permit at 823 S Cedar, and adopting the Neighborhood Revitalization Act to partner with county and Ottawa school district. Proclamations cover Renita Abel Day April 9, Cancer Awareness Month in April, and National Library Week April 13 20. Phase CIS seeks downtown ribbon promotion for Health Promotion Month aimed at teen pregnancy, substance abuse, and domestic violence awareness.
