A six man panel studying the 18 minute gap in the White House Watergate tape began work in New York. The group, agreed by the White House and special prosecutor Leon Jaworski, reviews the tape and related equipment including Rose Mary Woods typed transcript device and lamp from Oct 1.
Miss Woods testified she possibly erased a tape by accidentally pushing the record button while answering a phone. the four to five minute call may not explain the 18 minute hum.
