Dutch Engineer Faces Possible Deportation From Fulton

Sjoerd Osinga known as Hank, a 26 year old Dutch national, came to Fulton in 1974 on an 18 month visa to work at Black Clawson and Columbia Mills. After visa extensions and a denied immigration petition due to permit wording, Fulton Jaycees and local officials pressed for a new permit to allow Hank to stay and pursue U.S. citizenship.

Knoxville veteran faces 1 million bond for downtown shooting

A Korean War veteran, Robert Daniel Patty, 43, is held on 1 million bond after allegedly firing a high powered rifle into Knoxville's lunch crowd, killing three and wounding two. Police say no motive was found. Patty was charged with first degree murder.
