Irish Setter Red Saved a Child from Car Fire

Bruce Morris of St Louis credits his dog Red with saving two year old Margaret Morris when a weekend car fire trapped the child in a burning vehicle. Red reportedly leaped through a window, grabbed the girl by the collar, and dragged her to safety before the blaze intensified. The heroic dog was rewarded with a steak dinner by the grateful owner.

Oswego Council OKs CSEA Contract Amid Divide

The Oswego Common Council approved a two year CSEA contract by four to three with Canale Manasseri and Harris voting no. The pact retroactive to Jan 1 includes a $700 raise in 1977, a new holiday election day, and a nine percent average first year increase with varied second year raises.
