Dr. Herman B. Wells of Indiana University will head a three member team to study the State University's master plan. Joining him are Dr. John A. Parkins and G Russi Clark. The plan calls for a $1 billion expansion over ten years to raise capacity to 180 000 students with annual operating costs near $100 million.

Oswego Man Hurt In Car Crash On Lake View Road
An Oswego man, Anthony Azzarelli 22, suffered facial cuts requiring 12 stitches after brakes failed and his car struck a mailbox then the west corner of a Oswego residence. He was taken to Oswego hospital as a back injury was reported. Deputy Hall investigated the incident. A separate Hastings accident on County Route 33 involved 51 year old Jerry J. McMahon and 10 year old cyclist Michael Giddings with contusions treated by Dr. Dougherty.

State Jail Receives Positive City Inspection Findings
Oswego city jail was found in satisfactory condition after a May 9 visit by State Commission of Correction inspector Marohn. The facility, located on the main floor of City Hall, has six cells and steel housing around sanitary fixtures to deter tampering. Reports note worn cell walls in need of repainting, with recommendations to repaint the jail. The sergeant on duty confirmed no female detainees, and detainees are sent to the county jail if needed. Supervisory visits occur hourly, with room for improved record sheets. In 1962 CC-9 forms showed 136 males detained during the year. Lodgers are kept in a separate room.
