Released Mental Patient Held In Knife Slaying of N Y Girl
New York authorities say procedural mix ups may have led to the release from Creedmoor State Hospital of Joseph Baldi a 31 year old mental patient charged with the stabbing death of a 15 year old Queens girl Deborah Januszko. Baldi linked to three other knife killings and six assaults on women in south central Queens. He had been under mental observation after a September arrest for burglary and attempted murder of a police officer.
