Princeton Theological Seminary's Rev. Dr. Bruce M. Metzger receives a $1,000 prize from the Christian Research Foundation for his book Chapters in the History of New Testament Textual Criticism.
Oswego State College announces a six week July 11 to August 9 session offering two institutes. An Elementary Science Institute grants full tuition for teachers with three years of experience and current elementary assignments. A Summer Mathematics Institute provides fifteen tuition grants for high school teachers pursuing differential equations and advanced calculus. Applications require superintendent or principal recommendation and intent to continue in the field.
Judge Don H. Stacy opened a civil calendar with 48 cases in Oswego County Court. A jury was ordered for the breach of contract case of Robert Stewart and Clementina Stewart versus Paul G. Edwards. Five cases settled, one discontinued, three more set for empaneling juries, and court recessed to resume tomorrow morning.

County employees held a surprise luncheon for Mrs. Beverly Prucnal who resigned this month as deputy executive director of the Oswego County Civil Service Commission.
