Man Dies in City's First Traffic Fatality of Year

Oswego County records its eighth fatal accident of the year as James W. McRae 56 of 188 East Ninth Street dies after his 1959 Chevrolet leaves East Seneca Street near the city dump, crashes into a utility pole and he is pronounced dead at Oswego Hospital. The incident occurred just before 11 PM and McRae was found face down beside the wreck. He was a machine operator for Breneman Inc. and had served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy.
