Commencement at SUCO marks largest Oswego crowd
Acting President Dr Charles S Turner presided as 570 Bachelor of Science 29 Bachelor of Arts and 61 Master of Arts candidates received diplomas. The ceremony at South Athletic Field drew over 5,000 people making it the largest Oswego audience under one roof. Judge George W Penney announced milestones including first BA graduates and new Industrial-Technical Education division.

Mexico Resident Led Oswego Class In 1964 Cum Laude Honors
Irene Whipple Chorley of Mexico led the State University College at Oswego 1964 graduating class with a 3.94 index and was the lone summa cum laude graduate. She will teach kindergarten at Brewerton Elementary in Central Square SD this fall. Among 33 honor graduates, Oswego County residents include Clifton Gregory, Thomas Tyrrell, Janet Roberts, Thomas Coffey, Roger Franselcky, and Betty Allport, with a larger list of cum laude graduates from various towns and schools across New York.
