The Scottsville Police Department held a banquet to honor Chief Louis Borders, but he was absent from the event and unexpectedly remained the focus of attention as the supposed guest of honor.
David Straker Bowman of Chattanooga presented a full organ recital at the Presbyterian Church on an Allen electronic organ. He played Bach, Buxtehude, Ives, Franck and Widor, earning a standing ovation for over an hour of superb playing and earning a Fulbright scholarship to study in Frankfurt under Helmut Walcha.
At the 86th annual meeting held at St. John's Church Auburn a new treasurer was chosen and two department secretaries were unanimously re elected. Mrs Clinton R Keeler Jr of St Luke's Syracuse is treasurer Mrs Harold L Nelson of the host church is secretary of Christian social relations and Mrs Jack Vail of Trinity Binghamton will serve a second term as missionary supply secretary The Rt Rev Walter M Higley installed the new officers and Mrs John S Lawton of Watertown presides in her final year of a three year term.

AT&T reports that after 9 pm rates cut in April led to more calls after nine but no overall rise in interstate long-distance volume. Preliminary figures from selected cities show 10,481,000 calls in April versus 10,245,000 in March with one fewer business day, indicating little change in calling volume and no revenue increase.
Bishop W. Ralph Ward of the Syracuse Area Methodist Church was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Boston University at commencement. University President Harold C. Class Day program features Oswego High School Band acts, speeches by Richard Whalen Martha Warner and others, and a class gift presentation. Alliances include Rhea Armbruster, Robinson, Lerner Loewe, and Exodus numbers.
D G D Hollywood Premiere opens tonight and Friday at Schine’s Oswego theatre at 8. The Delta Gamma Delta Omicron chapter presents its 12th annual show with chairmen Miss Marion Burgo and Miss Caren Goodman. Arthur E. Raymo and Miss Phyllis Ann Harmer exchanged marriage vows June 1 at Cure of Ars church in Leawood Kansas. The bride wore white peau de soie with Alencon lace. Helen M Raymo was maid of honor and Charles C Miller served as best man. A reception followed at Bellerive Hotel Kansas City. The couple will reside in St Louis Missouri.
