Syracuse men face three murder charges in Fulton slaying
Two Syracuse residents William Bowers and James Slate were arraigned on three murder counts and related charges for the bludgeon death of Harold Phelps, 71, a Fulton contractor. Indictments allege robbery burglary and grand larceny tied to Phelps weapons valued at $10,000. The case, pending motions, is set for June 15 with both held without bail at Oswego County Jail.

Two youths were injured when their car collided with a parked vehicle on East Sixth Street near East Mohawk Street at 1 10 a m. Driver Mark S Askew 18 of Mexico Road 1 sustained a knee injury and neck pain while passenger Joseph W DeSantis 18 of 185 East Sixth Street suffered head contusions and chest and neck pain. DeSantis transported to Oswego Hospital. Owner of the parked car listed as James J Galvin 68 East Mohawk Street. Patrolmen Peter Griffin and David Tathron investigated.
