Oswego City Prize Contest Winners Named at Mexico Event
Melanie Gray of Altmar Parish Williamstown High School won first in the Oswego City Prize contest held at Mexico Academy and High School on Monday evening May 15. Carol Fargo finished second, daughter of Mr and Mrs Donald Fargo. David Ebert of Oswego Catholic High School took third with Shakespeare. Eight speakers competed with judges James Ace, Alexander Forbes, and Robert Gray.

Dr. Ronald David Jackson, son of Mr and Mrs William Jackson of North Jefferson Street, graduated from West Virginia University School of Dentistry on May 14. He plans a rotating internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda starting July 1, followed by two years as a Navy Dental Corps lieutenant. High Speed Chase Ends With Vehicle Strike Injures Driver
Lawrence B. Angona, 23, of Red Creek, led a 10 mile two-county chase at speeds up to 110 mph before a roadblock on Route 370, veered and struck a utility pole. He was treated for facial cuts and arraigned on 10 charges in Onondaga and Cayuga counties, including unlicensed operation and reckless driving, with bail set at 1000 dollars. He faces additional charges on June 12.
