Task Force Holds Cambodia Positions Amid Rainy Season
South Vietnamese forces plan to keep eight task forces in Cambodia through the rainy season. Snoul saw reinforced battalions as part of a broader push, with 9 000 eastern Cambodia troops dispersed. The capture of Snoul marks a strategic North Vietnamese victory, opening a new supply route north of Saigon. In Phnom Penh terrorists attacked two billets for American servicemen, injuring two enlisted men and wounding no one at the embassy villa and Marine guards’ house.
