U S Air Force B52 bombers attacked Viet Cong sanctuaries on both sides of Saigon to strike troop concentrations near the capital. Intelligence warns of plans for an Saigon invasion like the lunar new year offensive, as skirmishes occur near Con Thien and Marines engage in the Shaw Valley.

Nurse Rebecca Gould and a doctor saved him, and they plan to marry at Grace Methodist Church in Altoona. Dring, from Summerville, S.C., survived after extensive treatment and blood transfusions.
Police arrested about 70 people on narcotics charges across several counties from the Finger Lakes to the Hudson River. The raids involved marijuana, LSD and amphetamine pills with waterpipes and apparatus found. About 150 troopers and local officers took part, with 31 in Binghamton, 20 in Ithaca, 9 in Cortland and Norwich, and 9 in New Paltz and Highland. Several students from Cornell University Ithaca College and State University colleges at New Paltz and Cortland were among those arrested.
A 16 year old Auburn boy Ronald W Brazee died in St Josephs Hospital from burns after setting his clothing on fire March 19 He suffered third degree burns over about eighty percent of his body He left a note saying he hoped his death would shorten the war and was found on his body He had hitchhiked to Syracuse from Auburn and was in the cathedral before his act

U S and North Vietnamese representatives met again in Vientiane Laos to break the deadlock on where to hold preliminary peace talks. Ambassador William H Sullivan and Nguyen Chan the North Vietnamese chargé d affaires held the second meeting this week amid continued exchanges on venue.
A riot in Rome near the Palace of Justice erupts as police and about 3,000 students clash. Police use jeeps clubs and water jets while students overturn cars and seize cafe furniture to throw. Nearly 100 people wounded as demonstrations demand release of two arrested students for arson.
Fifteen cars of a Penn Central freight train derailed early today near Clyde New York blocking east and west rail traffic. No injuries were reported. The derailed cars were part of an eight car train from Buffalo to DeWitt most were refrigerated carrying perishable cargo such as meat. Other trains were detoured onto tracks serving Auburn.
In downtown Tokyo on a Saturday night riot police detained 186 militant student demonstrators including 185 Zengakuren members. Police charged about 700 rock throwers as protesters penetrated the Foreign and Finance Ministries compounds.
Czech demonstrators today clashed with North Vietnamese students during an antiwar protest at the U S Embassy in Prague. A student spokesman apologized saying the group regrets the incident and protests American aggression, not the United States.
Four people died in a fiery collision between a passenger train and a freight train near Trnava, Czechoslovakia, with fourteen others injured. Reports from CTK cite the Friday night crash and resulting deaths.

Columbia University faculty propose a twelve member panel and amnesty plan to end a four day student occupation on Morningside Heights. Protest leader rejects the plan and reiterates the demand for general amnesty as about 200 to 400 students occupy five campus buildings. Supporters bring groceries to the barricaded sites as a disciplinary panel is considered by the faculty.
Actor Cliff Robertson was briefly hospitalized after a bi plane he was piloting for the movie Sunshine Patriot struck power lines and flipped about 50 feet up. He suffered a nose cut and bruises, was treated and released, and the plane was demolished in Castaic, California.
