Airline Moves Fast Over Appleton Airport Move

North Central Airlines rushed to seek CAB authorization to drop Appleton service and shift to the new Outagamie County airport after Outagamie officials demanded move by Monday. The airline filed late Wednesday and hoped for a Friday CAB decision as the county weighs court action.

Appleton Air Service Set to Start July 19

Appleton Air Service will begin daily round trips between Appleton and Chicago on July 19. John Conway, vice president of Air Wisconsin, announced the launch after a meeting of officials. A second De Havilland Dove plane was purchased to expand the operation.

Wisconsin Assembly backs private college grant plan

Wisconsin Assembly Education Committee approved a bill to create a state Higher Education Aids Commission to award need based grants to attend private colleges, with a $1.4 million per biennium cost. Grants range 50 to 250 dollars per semester, income based, and tuition must exceed 20 dollars.
