It notes the Polk county fair success, Tanner Bros shows, marriages, deaths, and farm ads including alfalfa, feed, and livestock highlights.
President Roosevelt, suffering an abscess on his left leg from a New Jersey accident, required surgery and canceled his western trip. He travels to Washington for rest, and his condition is described as not serious.
One hundred head of grade and full blooded Herefords and Shorthorns to be auctioned at George Dimick's big farm two miles west of Beulah in Platte precinct on Thursday September 25 starting at 10 o'clock A M. See large bills for list of stock.
Samuel Snodgrass Sr a long time resident of Donegal township died at his Donley home about 11 a.m. Thursday September 18 1902 aged 83. He and his wife were longtime Zion United Brethren church members and he ran the Donley post office for 28 years. He was born in Donegal in 1820 and married Mathilda Lambourne in West Alexander April 6 1848. They celebrated a golden wedding in 1898. Surviving are seven children Joel L. Snodgrass of Duenweg Mo Josephine wife of Frank Rodgers John of Jacksonville W Va Robert G a hardware merchant of Donley Prof Milton R of Wayne Neb Jennie wife of C C Stull Osceola Neb and Samuel carrier on rural route 62 off. and Mrs Snodgrass reside at Donley.
