The Osceola Woman's Club hosted a reception for new members and local public school teachers at the Methodist Church parlors. Guests enjoyed songs directed by Mrs W. Schumann and a short pre act play “Helurette and Co.”, presented by Mrs Lloyd Timm and Mrs Harry Pratt. President May Merrick welcomed guests and outlined upcoming department programs. Refreshments were served by the reception committee. The club’s first regular meeting is set for October 4 at the schoolhouse.

The Yum Yum Cooking Club of Osceola led by Mrs Joel Hanson marks one year of Extension Department activity. Members including Avis Beatty Arlene Steerle Carol LeMar Alta Greers nicklaus Marion Hultquist Sure Newcomer Nadine Richimond Kris Hanson Margaret Anderson Maxine Herbes Edna Pratt Edith Welden Gertrude Matheson Mabel Jaider and Mildred Craven produced 845 recipes and 134 loaves plus 26 batches of rolls. They earned first prizes at the County and State Fairs with entries by LeMar and Newcomer and Slitheson and Hansen. The group won four dollars for best club exhibit and helped prepare about 3000 meals this summer.
