Homer Ingalls of Shelby led the Champion Shorthorn with a pure white steer named Duke weighing over 1000 pounds. Prince, Duke’s half brother shown by Harold Ingalls, placed second. Raymond Wagner of Osceola placed ninth with Snowball. Harold also won sixth in a strong intermediate class. Willis McMeekin of Shelby showed Snowball to fourth as a group. Prizes included about 40 in cash plus a gold watch. Calves sold for 20, 17, and 16 2 per pound respectively. champion averaged 47 cents.

Helen Francis Dewey LeMar, born September 17 1876 in West Union Iowa, died aged 50 years 11 months and 24 days in Osceola Nebraska. She trained as a nurse in Omaha and New York, married Dr Clair L LeMar in 1905, leaving husband and three children John Carol and Richard. Funeral services were held at the M E Church Osceola with many out of town mourners.

Swedish-born tailor and pioneer Hendrik Lindeblade 87 dies in Stromsburg
Emmanuel Lindeblade born July 16 1840 in Tanum near Gothenburg Sweden. He learned tailoring then sailed as a seaman before arriving in New York 1861. He and Hanna Johnson married 1867 and moved to Lincoln Nebraska 1871 later homesteading near Swede Home in Polk County. Survived by multiple children and many relatives. funeral at Salem Lutheran Stromsburg with grandsons as pallbearers. Interment Swede Home Cemetery beside wife.

Osceola Country Club produced the circuit champion and runner up in the Mid Nebraska individual event. Ray mond Kepner defeated Bob Inness of Shelby in the final at Wayzata Country Club in Columbus.
