Osceola residents host visitors from Rising City Lincoln and Omaha while local clergy and clubs hold meetings. Notable items include church services by Rev Beck, a Bible study event, school opening with 250 pupils, and plans for the Great American Shows parade.
A sale notice listing 110 head of two or three year old native steers on pasture ten miles northwest of Osceola. Time and cash to salt purchaser. No further details provided.
In Philadelphia this September the Union Pacific will sell round trip tickets at greatly reduced rates for the National G A R gathering. Similar low fares to New York City apply on the same dates and terms. For details contact agent C Clark.
A new display of up to date millinery arrives from St. Joe at the North Side Millinery Store in Osceola. The stock includes hats and trimmings, caps and tams, ostrich goods, feathers, velvets and satins. Miss Nellie Texley leads the trimming department and invites ladies to view the offerings.

The Republican electors of Butler Saunders Hamilton Polk Seward York counties in Nebraska seek delegates to a September 28 1899 convention at Seward for nominating two district judge candidates. Representation is apportioned by county votes with one delegate per 100 votes or major fraction and one at large. Proxies are not admitted. E G Hatt Secretary George W Shreck Chairman.
