October 5 Deadline Set for Wheat Reserve Agreements

Polk County ASC announces new filing date for 1957 wheat acreage reserve agreements extended to October 5 1956 from September 21 1956. Approvals are first come first served. The Wheat Bank is the second of four soil bank programs. Farmers receive payment for reducing wheat acreage below allotments to offset lost income. Winter wheat growers should visit the county ASC office to sign an agreement.

Polk Plans Fiftieth Birthday Celebration in West Polk

Polk, a 500 population town, plans a two day fifty year celebration on September 18 and 19 with 50 planned floats. Guest speakers include Congressman R D Harrison and James Wilson.
