Canada Wheat at Exposition Promises Farmland Growth
Canada exhibited 11 pounds of hard red milling wheat at the American Land and Irrigation Exposition in New York. The sample boosted land values in the western provinces, benefited farmers, and supported plans for a transcontinental line with the Canadian Pacific Railway. A land grant of 25 million acres was noted, with 6 million in Alberta still unsold and offered at low rates through the railway.
