Rest Manor Closes as 14 Residents Move to New Village
In Polk County the Rest Manor ends its operation as Good Samaritan Village opens. Fourteen residents will relocate to the new home where operator Ella Koehler will join the Andersons as assistant managers. Koehler, 21 years in elderly care, notes the manor’s long tradition of homey care over institutional style. One guest, 91 year old Mrs Laura Taddiken, has stayed fourteen years.
