The Ben Hur tribe led by Mrs Cora Johnson started a thirteen member class Saturday night with nineteen on the list thirteen attended. A banquet followed in the lodge grill room for a fine evening. Special deputies Casgridy and Gates aided with Friday night program and will work at camps in Columbus and Schuyler. Mrs Johnson departs to David City for continued revival work with the Ben Hur fraternity.
Sunday School and Bible Classes are held as usual next Sunday. Divine services occur at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m with evening services in English. The annual Ladies Aid Society sale happens Wednesday Oct 27 at 8 p.m. in the church basement and refreshments will be served. L L meets Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Olof Hedlund west of the city. Welcome.
Osceola fell Friday to Stepan Bow 32 to 7 in a clean fast game. Several players headed to Lincoln after the contest.
Petrus Nelson son of Mr and Mrs Peter Nelson marries Miss Millana Chindgren daughter of Mr and Mrs Gust Chindgren at the Lutheran church Swede Home Thursday at 8 pm Rev C A Sward officiated ring ceremony Mendelssohn wedding march played by Miss Backlund bridesmaid Miss Lillian Chindgren groom attended by his brother Herman Nelson The couple will live on the groom home farm southwest of Swede Home The Nelson and Hartson families attended the ceremony with many friends sending congratulations.
A shower honoring the newlyweds Mr and Mrs Petrus C Nelson was held at the home of Mr and Mrs J G Carlson on October 28. Guests embroidered towels and the bride and groom received gifts including cookbooks and rules for pleasing a wife.
The Alvin Silverware Contest ends Saturday October 30 at the Little Gold and Silver Store. Submit your answer by Saturday evening to win a 26 piece Alvin Silver set.
