Fightmaster funeral held in York for Polk County woman
Mrs Warren Fightmaster 81 died recently and funeral services were held Thursday at Metz Mortuary in York with Rev E W Price officiating. Burial at Arborville cemetery near Polk. Surviving husband, daughter Myrna Skaden of York, three grandchildren, two sisters, and other relatives. Also notes anniversary of Rev Harold Jensen and wife, details of their career and ministry across multiple states and countries.

Farm pre inspection invites view of livestock and used machinery
A pre inspection period will occur Sunday afternoon October 25 from 2 to 5 pm at the farm. Attendees may inspect Holstein heifers and other stock, cattle bred for February May and June freshening, several calves, and a large inventory of equipment including milk tanks milking gear tractors harvesters and implements from John Deere Allis Chalmers and Case with multiple disks rakes mowers and trailers.
Polk County community notes span meetings and visits
Rodney L Johnson attends a basic petroleum course in Kansas City. October Legion Auxiliary reports include a $10 donation to the Nebraska Opportunity Center at Columbus and a trumpet trio with lunch served by local hosts. WSCS members lead a prayer lesson at the Methodist Church with a special trio and a reading. Local residents visit relatives in California and Holdrege. Oscar Imm elected Polk County Farm Bureau president with delegates named for Lincoln convention. A German band performs at Silver Creek chili supper for about 40. Numerous social events, visits, and family activities fill Osceola and Polk County community life.
