President Hayes and several Cabinet members will attend the agricultural fair at Frederick Maryland on Thursday the 11th inst. The report notes other national items including the death of singer Madame Teresa Titicins in London and a Baltimore diocese official’s death in Newark. Also mentioned is Gen John McDonall’s discharge from further prosecution after a presidential pardon. A series of blazes destroyed structures including AM KC Keepsport near Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Car and Locomotive Works. A large block of buildings burned in Joplin Missouri, causing extensive damage and smoke across the area.
Two savings banks shut their doors Cape Cod Five in Harwich Massachusetts and Allegheny Savings Bank in Allegheny City Pennsylvania.
